Reasons WHY WE LOVE (family-friendly) SPAIN!

  1. Spain is a culture rich country with many revolutionary and interesting buildings, including 44 UNESCO World Heritage sites, ancient Roman cathedrals and a great variety of awesome child-friendly accommodation options. Picture an afternoon nap with your kids in a traditional flamenco style boutique hotel! Spain is the only country (that we’re aware of), where ‘siestas’ are actively practiced! Small shops close, restaurants don’t serve food and the streets become noticeably quieter during the afternoons.
  2. Madrid is the capital and largest city in Spain, but Barcelona is the cosmopolitan capital of Spain’s Catalonia region and a must-visit with kids. One of the major contributing factors of Barcelona’s child friendliness, is the welcoming attitude of the local Spanish people who are extremely family orientated.  Some exciting suggestions on what to do in Barcelona include the following
    • Some say travelling with children in and through Barcelona is a ‘walk in the park’! Perhaps literally as well! There are many beautiful parks which are ideal for strolling around. Visit Montjuïc and explore the highly impressive castle and over-sized wooden instruments and creations designed for children in the Jardins de Joan Brossa gardens. Parc de la Ciutadella has everything you could possibly ask for; a boating lake, playgrounds, the Zoo de Barcelona, a rose garden and a beautiful fountain. However, the best ranked park and another of Gaudi’s works is Park Güell, a very unique UNESCO World heritage site! This is not a ‘free public park’, so we can offer you “skip the line tickets” prior to arrival as well as a complete guided tour. Discover Antoni Gaudi’s architectural mosaic masterpieces during this walking tour and learn all about the history of the park and its designer. You will enjoy stunning views of Barcelona including a visit to Gaudi’s former home.
    • Visit La Rambla, the most famous street that runs through the city centre. The street acts as a stage to all types of highly entertaining street performers which promises total enjoyment for the entire family.
    • For first time visitors to Barcelona, we highly recommend a “Hop-on-Hop-off” sightseeing bus tour which we will gladly assist you with. Design your own tour at your own pace so your family won’t feel rushed at all. Come rain or shine, this double-decker bus takes you to all the ‘must-see’ highlights in Barcelona, including the famous La Sagrada Familia. (Note: Bus tickets exclude entry fees to sites).
    • Visit the Barcelona Aquarium. (Tickets can also be purchased through us). Experience 35 tanks which are home to 450 aqua species including sharks, piranhas, penguins and manta rays. The Barcelona Aquarium is known as the most important Mediterranean marine leisure and education centre in the world!
    • Visit Port Aventura (Tickets available through us). This theme park offers you everything from white knuckle rides to wet and wild, state of the art water rides. Port Aventura is divided into five different themed areas: Imperial China, the Wild West, Polynesia, Aztec Mexico and the Mediterranean. The park hosts the tallest roller coaster in Europe, the Shambhala experience. There are undoubtedly many fun things to do for the whole family!
  3. Barcelona has much more to offer and is considered as one of the top bucket list, must see cities on the planet. Click here to visit our dedicated page on this vibrant and exciting city.
  4. Menorca is the most authentic choice of the Spanish Balearic Islands and a quieter destination with the absence of unpleasant nightlife scenes. Fly to Menorca via Barcelona, Madrid or London and let’s confirm your bookings long in advance to secure the best available airfares. Menorca offers excellent family friendly accommodation options and over 120 beaches, which is ideal for any family holiday. Other highlights include:
    • The Son Martorellet Equestrian Show. The elegant dancing of the magnificent Menorcan horses must be high on your to-do list.  Equestrian art meets magic and fantasy in an innovative extravaganza that will captivate every member of your family.
    • Book a guided Cheese Factory & Tasting Tour. It starts with a wander through the Subaida estate’s facilities and operations (farm animals, cow farm, and milking chamber). Next, you will join a live demonstration in the art of cheese making. And in conclusion you will enjoy a complete sampling and delicious tasting experience.
    • Let’s include Lloc de Menorca in your itinerary. It is a small and friendly zoo where you will find a wide range of native species as well as exotic animals from all over the world!
    • Another great option to include in your itinerary is the Aqua Rock Water Park! There are adrenaline rides, slides and play areas for the entire family!
  5. Another excellent way to explore Spain as a family is a 6-Night-7-Day Train Journey from Madrid to Barcelona OR a 7-Night-8-Day Train Journey between Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona! Your package will include centrally located 3-Star Hotels, Breakfast each morning and 2nd Class Rail Tickets with seat reservations. To make your journey even more interesting we will offer a creative pallet of add-on options, e.g. hop-on-hop-off bus tours, Flamenco dinner shows, day trips from Madrid to Toledo and Cordoba, day trips from Barcelona to Costa Brava, Tapas culinary tours, private hot air balloon rides across Barcelona and tickets for active and adventurous bicycle or Segway tours.
